In 1922, WOSU became the first radio station in Columbus and among the first in the country to provide educational radio services. WOSU Public Radio now includes six stations providing all day news and classical music services, plus weekend bluegrass music. WOSU was named the #1 radio news operation in Ohio in 2011 for the second straight year by the Society for Professional Journalists. OSU Public Radio includes digital multicast programming for those who listen on a HD Radio with primary stations in Columbus and others in service to several Ohio communities: WOSU 89.7 NPR News provides all-day news and information including local news and All Sides with Ann Fisher. WOSA 101.1 is Classical 101 offering the only all-day classical music service in central Ohio with over 50 hours of local concerts and coverage of the performing arts. WOSU provides regional stations in Marion 91.1, Mansfield 91.7, with Classical 101 as the primary service and a second channel of NPR news and information.
